After a tough day of work and no ability to workout that same day, I turned my energy into a nice firepit using stones we've had laying around for a stone stairway. Here are the results:
Repurposing, reclaiming, recycling and renewing vintage items for the home and garden.

Weekend project under $250
I wanted to add a patio in an unused area of our backyard. We had been dumping dirt and junk there while we renovated other areas around and inside the house. All that was required was several landscape timbers, a few boxwood bushes and 20 bags of pea stone. Total cost $217.00. Here are the results.
Before. This pic was taken prior to it getting filled in with junk and dirt |
After. You can just see the boxwoods next to the concrete wall. I spent the day, in the beautiful weather leveling and adding the timbers. |
Close up of the area. It's about 10' by 10'. I love it! |

Two cottages and an apartment.
I'm saddened to say that I'll be selling Cottage Two soon as we head up to New York. I found an apartment in Jersey City just outside of New York and will miss walking the dog in the parks next to our house in Colmar Manor. Alas, I am seeking a new cottage in New Jersey and hopefully you'll see something on that soon.
